If you want to feel good, then you know that it begins from the inside and works outward. Of course there are hundreds of businesses who make their profits from people wanting to improve their health.

You know it is not true that a person can lose significant weight very fast and keep it off. Nobody wants to be scammed, and this is quite preventable by digging deep and debunking the myths on your own. This is not nearly as difficult as you might think it is, and you can start by learning the following three facts.

One of the silliest fitness myths out there is that, if you want to improve your muscle tone but don’t want them to become too bulky, you should lift lighter weights. This also relates to  how many repetitions you do either with heavier or lighter weights. The truth about women is they are unable to become as big as men, and this is directly due to hormones within the body. Most weight lifters want to gain muscle mass, and it is very doable if you want to pursue that.

You’ve probably been told more than once that eating fish makes you smart, but this is not good news for people who do not like (or who might be allergic to) fish. Let’s take salmon, and the reason is that this is an excellent fish for all kinds of healthy reasons. There are some sources of salmon that contain some heavy metals, and that is one of the unfortunate and serious issues with this healthy fish. The essential fatty acids found in this fish are the true source, and this is why we recommend salmon so much. An alternative might be to take  supplements but you would do well to do careful research if you would rather take them than cook the fish, etc.

You may find it ultimately to be not true that weight loss efforts will be smoother and more effective by getting rid of gluten in your diet. It is not the gluten that makes you fat – it is all about calories and always has been. In fact, unless you have an auto immune disorder like Celiaca’s Disease or a genuine allergy to gluten, being gluten free isn’t going to work any weight loss miracles. In fact, it could sometimes even make you feel worse.

There are some things that are lies and only meant to take your money, and this is not just in fitness areas. It may not always be easy, but you can educate yourself and look further into the matter at hand. We’ve outlined a few of those myths here, but additional research will turn up plenty of others.
