Breakaway year in alternative energy (Cadillac News)
With Michigan pushing for increased alternative energy, 2008 marked a breakaway start for northern Michigan. Passing the Renewable Portfolio Standard in September, by 2015 Michigan will be required to have 5.5 percent of its energy needs met with renewable resources.
